About Us
David's Eyewear is a busy independent optical clinic located in the midst of Kentville, Nova Scotia. Rebecca and Robert are the Licensed Opticians at David's Eyewear and can assist you with any questions you may have regarding frames or lenses, and will help you select what is best for you, your lifestyle and your budget. Being an independent clinic allows us access to multiple frame and lens companies which means we can tailor eyewear to your needs.
New clients are always welcome and we are always happy to see, and take care of, our many returning customers from all over Nova Scotia.
David White Vision Clinics in Zambia
In 2017, David White headed to Zambia on a vision care mission.
In ten intensive days that often stretched late into the night, David examined and prescribed glasses for
over five hundred people. For those in the remote areas,
this was the only vision care ever received.
According to the United Nations, vision is the world’s biggest health crisis with over two billion people in need of vision care.
In seeking to bring vision care to under privileged individuals, David was miles ahead of the local health care system.
The local hospital with a catchment of over 100,000 people had no equipment of any kind for vision care. As a result of David’s work, three pieces of vision care equipment were delivered
to the Kapiri Mposhi general hospital.
Recently David’s Eyewear gave Mission Zambia over five hundred glasses for vision care. This will facilitate other vision clinics in Zambia with current proprietor Rebecca Howden
and other volunteers.
The Legacy of David lives on.
We actively donate used glassed to Zambia several times a year.
